FG Wilson introduced the Perkins 4006-23TAG series of engines in place of the 3012TAG series to power their genset models P730P1 / P800E1 and P800P1 / P900E1.
These newly designed 23 Liter 6 cylinder diesel engines have individual heads with 4 valves per cylinder giving optimized gas flows, and unit injectors to ensure ultra fine fuel atomization hence controlled rapid combustion. It uses new and improved materials & design, such as strengthened pushrods, improved socket pads and an advanced gallery jet cooling system for pistons.
Features of the new P800E1 & P900E1 generators include
The Perkins 4000 series engine has exceptional power to weight ratio and compact size give optimum power density for easier transportation and installation. It is designed to provide excellent service access for ease of maintenance and has many components common to other engines in the 4000 series family resulting in reduced parts stocking requirements.

FG Wilson has introduced a new range of digital control panels named the PowerWizard series for the full range of diesel generators from 10kVA to 2000kVA.PowerWizard1.0 is an auto start control & protection panel, while PowerWizard2.0 has several additional features including enhanced instrumentation, increased protection and remote monitoring & control capabilities.
The first model, PowerWizard1.0, is the most commonly used and supersedes the 2001, 4001 and Access 2000 control panels. This panel has many control, monitoring and protection features that come as standard and is suitable for most applications. It features basic AC & DC metering, alarms and shutdowns for protection including a fault log for diagnosis, and controls for operation of the unit. Features such as low/high battery voltage indication, battery charger failure (if fitted), underspeed, overspeed and loss of engine speed detection that were optional features on the previous control panels come as standard on PowerWizard1.0. The auto start feature of this panel can be used in conjunction with the ATI series of automatic load transfer switches to create a reliable backup power system in case of mains power failure.
PowerWizard2.0 replaces the 4001E, Access 4000 and 6100 control panels and is used for applications where comprehensive monitoring and protection and/or remote monitoring and control is required. The panel provides enhanced AC metering including kW, kVA, kVAr, Power Factor, kWH & kVArH in addition to Voltage, Amps and Frequency metering available on PowerWizard1.0. It also has under frequency, over frequency and overcurrent protection as standard. Optional equipment that can be ordered with this panel includes remote annunciators and remote monitoring/control using a dial-up modem and software that can be installed on a personal computer. PowerWizard3.0 is for customized applications and features advanced engine & AC metering and an upgraded graphical display. Its functionality can be increased by add-on/expansion modules.

Perkins has long been the engine of choice for FG Wilson. The relationship between Perkins and FG Wilson goes back for two decades even before they became sister companies.
Currently FG Wilson is the largest user of Perkins industrial engines. This long and established relationship has led to a great synergy between the two companies creating value for FG Wilson customers. Today FG Wilson works together with Perkins in the development, design and testing of new generator drive engines.
The benefits to FG Wilson customers are seen in more than the design and performance of FG Wilson generators. One clear example is in after sales and support where FG Wilson dealers have the EST tool to support all aspects of the generator from the Power Wizard control panels all the way to electronic engine diagnostics of the 2300 and 2800 engines.

FG Wilson has for the past decade led the market in the quality and design of its sound attenuated generators.
This year FG Wilson opened an amazing sound testing facility at its Larne, Northern Ireland factory at a cost of nearly 2 Million USD.
From a sales and marketing point of view this is money well invested as year after year the proportion of Sound Attenuated Generators has increased.
There are two main reasons for this increased demand in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Generators have become more common place in every day life. Homes and businesses that previously had not considered purchasing a generator are now seeing it as a necessity and not a luxury. Few homes or commercial locations are designed and built to house a generator and therefore have to install one outside.
As utilities become overloaded generators are no longer “Emergency” generators but can often run several times a week. This has made communities sensitive to noise levels and users willing to invest in a sound attenuated generator.
