FG Wilson P750E1 in stock at FGW Latin America & Caribbean

Earlier this year FG Wilson launched the P750E1 that provides 600 kW in 60Hz. As a sales person one always gets excited about the new products and even more so the bigger they are.

The FG Wilson P750E1 is powered by the new Perkins 2806C-E18TAG3 that is a clear example of the huge investment that Perkins and its parent company have made in engine development over the past couple of years.

This P750E1 is unique because it uses an 18 litre 6 cylinder in line engine when other manufacturers are still using 12 cylinder 23 and 28 litre engines. The reason the P750E1 is able to deliver this power is through its advanced electronic injection system that makes it a lot more efficient and reliable.

FGW Latin America & Caribbean has included the FG Wilson P750E1 as part of the models it keeps in stock both in Open and Sound Attenuated version.

Inventory and Availability at FGW Latin America & Caribbean

As this year draws to a close clearly the issue most brought up by customers and dealers in 2005 was availability and delivery times. Yes it is true that lead times at FG Wilson have increased significantly from previous years. China and Middle East have been experiencing high demand and created supply constraints on FG Wilson.

During this year Latin America and the Caribbean have also show a significant increase in demand.

One factor driving this is last years and this years extremely busy hurricane season in Florida. A total of 5 have hit since last September. As most people know FG Wilson does not sell in the US market but this has indirectly affected FG WIlson delivery times. The reason is most of our competitors have used up their inventory supplying opportunity business in the Florida and New Orleans hurricanes. This could not have been more obvious than during Hurricane Wilma last month that left Miami with out power for over a week.

As part of our strategy and commitment to our customers in the region FG Wilson has kept its inventory exclusively for Latin America and the Caribbean! This has allowed us consistent and accurate delivery times for FG Wilson customers and dealers. 

FG Wilson Generator range SW250E1-SW450E1 Powered with Scania

Since 2004 FG Wilson has offered our range of SW generators powered by Scania Engines.
The SW range starts with the SW250E1 (250 kVA/200kW in 50Hz - 300 kVA / 240 kW in 60Hz) and goes up to SW450E1 (450 kVA/360 kW in 50Hz - 460 kVA / 368 kW in 60hz).
FG Wilson has used Scania Engines on various custom gensets for many years now so it is not uknown engine to us.

In the Latin America and Caribbean region Scania is particularly well known in South America. In the Caribbean I am often asked about Scania so I wanted to share some information about the company.

Scania AB (www.Scania.com) is a Swedish company that was founded in 1891 this makes it one of the oldest companies in the diesel engine business. (As a point of comparison Cummins was founded in 1919). Scania manufactures and sells its buses, trucks and engines in more than 100 countries worldwide. Scania AB has employs around 29,000 people (As a point of comparison Caterpillar has 80,000 and Cummins 28,000) with factories in Europe and Latin America.
